Hey BJJ community, I want to share a story about my journey to starting BJJ. When I first heard about BJJ, I was really intimidated by the idea of joining a class. I had never done any martial arts before, and the thought of getting choked out or submitted in front of a room full of strangers was terrifying.
I watched countless videos and read countless articles, but the fear just kept holding me back. I was convinced that I would be the weakest person in the class and get destroyed every time I stepped on the mat.
But one day, I decided that I was sick and tired of being held back by my own fear. I realized that if I didn’t take the leap and join a class, I would regret it forever. So, I signed up for a trial class at a BJJ gym in London and it was the best decision I ever made.
The first class was tough, I was sore and exhausted, but I had the time of my life. I felt like I was part of something special and I couldn’t wait to come back for the next class. Everyone was so welcoming and supportive, I realized that I had nothing to be afraid of.
Moral of the story: Don’t let fear hold you back from trying something new. BJJ is a journey that will change your life in the best way possible, but you have to take that first step. Sign up for a class, you won’t regret it.
Stay safe and roll on!
