CS: BJJ enthusiast forgets his belt at home
What happens if you forget your BJJ belt at home. Well, usually there are spares in the gym.
Alright BJJ fam, gather around for another hilarious/embarrassing story from my training journey. So, as you all know, BJJ is a very technical sport and every little detail can make a big difference. And in this case, the detail that made a big difference was my belt…or lack thereof.
I showed up to training one day feeling like a boss, ready to crush some rolls and learn some new techniques. But as soon as I started warming up, I realized that I had forgotten my belt at home. I was wearing my gi and everything, but no belt. I felt like a complete noob, but I decided to just roll without it and hope for the best.
Well, let’s just say things did not go well. I was getting swept left and right, and I couldn’t even hold onto a decent guard. Every time I tried to sweep or submit, I was getting countered and submitted myself. It was like my white belt days all over again. And to make matters worse, everyone in the class was laughing at me and calling me “beltless wonder”.
But, as they say, every cloud has a silver lining. I learned a valuable lesson that day, always double check that you have all your gear before heading to training. And also, belt or no belt, never give up on your BJJ journey.
Stay safe and roll on!
